Peruvian Frazada - Luna
Each frazada is unique, one-of-a-kind + handmade in Peru
made with alpaca and sheep wool
162cm x 148cm
Frazada's were sourced from Cusco in the Peruvian Andes. The Frazada’s we carry are hand-woven from alpaca and sheeps wool by way of a traditional back strap loom. Two panels are then stitched together in unity to create a traditional Frazada. Each blanket is made to be very thick to protect from the harsh and chilly weather in the Andean highlands.
Creation to finish, a Frazada could take up to 1-2 months. Each Frazada is unique and reflective of the artisans style and artistic atalent. The weaving skills you see in each Frazada are passed down from generations and generations before them. The women in Cusco villages have created some beautiful pieces and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
